A Multi choice value represents a Boolean value, which can be either true or false, also called Checked or Unchecked. Multi choice values are grouped together by their owning multi choice parameter.

A multi choice value can also have a third state called Indeterminate which means that it's neither checked nor unchecked. In the CPQ user interface a question mark is then shown in the check-box that represents the multi choice value. Indeterminate can be used as a default value to force the user to decide whether to check or uncheck the value. As long as the value is indeterminate the user is requested to set it if the value is marked as mandatory.

Settings

The following settings are specific for multi choice values:

Setting name

Description

Obsolete

The multi choice value is no longer selectable, but stored values for it in configurations that were saved before the value became obsolete are still valid.

Hide if disabled

Checked if the multi choice value shall be hidden if the value Checked (true) is disabled by disallowed combination rules. The default is unchecked.

Three state

Allows the user to unset the parameter by toggling it back to indeterminate.

See also general parameter settings. Note that Mandatory and Mandatory from state are set directly on multi choice values since they don't have a link to a tab as parameters have.
