Rules can be shared between multiple products. To use the same rule in another product, simply copy and paste as link, or create the link using drag-and-drop.
Before establishing a link between a rule and another product, Combinum verifies that all parameters and attributes included in the rule (either by direct reference or within an expression) also exist in the destination product. If the destination product is missing a required parameter or attribute, Combinum will notify the user and block the linking process.
Only shared parameters and attributes are available
Once a rule is linked to several products, the rule dialog will only display parameters and attributes that exist in all linked products. If the linked products share no parameters or attributes, the parameter and attribute lists will remain blank.
Same categorization of shared rules
If a rule is classified into a specific rule category, it will automatically appear within that same category in the destination products' rule trees.
Remarks
To link a rule to another product, it is not enough for the receiving product to simply have parameters with the same names. They must be the exact same parameter definitions that are linked to tabs in both products.
